Ernest W. Watson

1884-1969

born in Conway, Massachusetts on January 14, 1884.  He studied at the Massachusetts College of Art and at Pratt Institute.  He taught at Pratt Institute from 1919-1929.  In 1915 he co-founded with Raymond Ensign the Berkshire Summer School of Art.  Around 1920 he and his wife, Eva Auld Watson, started producing color linocuts.  His work is in many institutional collections.  He is the author of many books on drawing and color methods.
