Alan Crane, also known as Alan Horton Crane, was an American lithographer and illustrator, born in Brooklyn, New York. He studied at Pratt Institute and spent a great deal of time in New England. He also traveled to Mexico on multiple occasions, resulting in quite a few lithographs of the country.
He was a member of the Society of American Graphic Artists, Print Club of Albany, Washington Print Makers, Prairie Print Makers, Guild of Boston Artists, Rockport Art Association, Salmagundi club, Audubon Artists, and the North Shore Arts Association.
His work can be found in numerous institutions, including the Smithsonian Institute, Washington D.C.; Library of Congress, Washington, D.C.; Metropolitan Museum of Art, N.Y.; New York Public Library, N.Y.; Brooklyn Museum, N.Y.; and the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco, C.A.
