Norman Kent

1903-1972

Norman Kent was an American watercolorist, woodcut artist and teacher, born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology in 1925, after which he received a scholarship to the Art Students League in New York City. When he wasn't making fine art prints, he worked as an illustrator and art editor for various publications, including Reader's Digest, True magazine and American Artist Magazine.

Kent was a member of the Century Club and an honorary member of the Salmagundi Club. His work can be found in museum across the United States and Europe, including the British Museum, London; National Portrait Gallery, D.C.; Syracuse University, New York; and the New York Public Library, New York.
