Lloyd Lozes Goff

(1908-1982)

Lloyd Lozes Goff was born in in Dallas, Texas in 1908. He exhibited paintings regularly exhibited at Texas Artists Exhibitions. He was also included in the 1932 “Nine Young Dallas Artists" and the 1936 "Texas Centennial Exposition." He was involved with the Works Progress Administration (WPA) painting murals in Texas.

Goff studied at the Art Students League from 1936 – 1940 with George Grosz and Kenneth Hayes Miller. He moved to New Mexico in 1940 and taught at the University of New Mexico until 1945. His work is in numerous collections including the Whitney Museum, Dallas Museum of art, Library of Congress, Roswell Museum of Art, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
