H. B. Hall

Born in London, England, Henry Bryan Hall was a sucessful engraver and portrait painter. He created many works and illustrated a number of publications before moving to New York in 1850, where he founded H. B. Hall and Sons. His works began to feature important American figures from the colonial and Revolutionary periods. Four of his children became accomplished engravers themselves.
