Gaspard-Felix Nadar

1820-1910

Nadar was the pseudonym of Garpard-Felix Tournachon. Born in Paris, he was a photographer, caricaturist, writer and balloonist. He begain taking photographs in 1853 and was the first person to take aerial photographs. Around 1863, Nadar built a large hot air balloon named Le Géant -"The Giant" - inspiring Jules Verne.
