Richard Kemble

(1932 - 2007)

Richard Kemble was born in Erie, Pennsylvania in 1932. He taught at both the University at Buffalo and Pratt Institute in his life time, but gave up teaching after receiving a printmaking fellowship from the National Endowment of the Arts in 1974. It was one of the first such fellowships given out by the organization and it inspired him to focus on creating, rather than teaching, for the rest of his life.
