Evelynne Mess Daily

(1903-2003)

Evelynne Mess Daily was an American printmaker, painter and teacher, born in Indianapolis, Indiana. She along with L.O. Griffith, Frederick Polly and husband George Jo Mess, founded the Indiana Society of Printmakers in 1934. In the summer of 1929, Mess and her husband traveled to France in order to study at Ecole des Beaux-Arts at Fontainebleau. Before returning home, the couple traveled through parts of Europe, drawing everywhere they went. Mess would later use those drawings to produce etchings.

Evelynne Mess Daily was a member of Indiana Artists Club, Indiana Federation of Art Clubs, The Indiana Society of Print Making, The Society of Arts and Letters, American Water Color Society and the Brown County Art Gallery Association.
