Raymond Nania (b.1933)Raymond Nania was born in Cold Spring (on the Hudson),
New York on Christmas Day in 1933. His Father presented him with a Kodak 620 Box
camera at the age of 10. Finding 6 rolls of Kodak Verichrome film in a drawer
"he was off." Inspired by the beauty surrounding the Hudson, his interest turned
to painting and photography. He moved to Manhattan in 1952 and studied at the
Art Student's League. After a four-year apprenticeship with various publishing
companies, he opened his own design studio, Nania Graphic Design. In business
more than 45 years, Raymond than retired to devote full time to photography. He
spends the days capturing images around Manhattan and enjoys printing them himself
using archival ink and paper. His collection spans more than 50 years.
Raymond
is a member of Photographic Administrators, Inc. A sampling of his work has been
shown at; Bennett Communications, Inc. Daphne Gallery, The National Arts Club
and the Union State Bank. |
