  • DESCRIPTION: A handsome sea chart of south eastern waters of New England. This chart is noted as being based on a U.S. Coast Survey chart. Hundreds of soundings are given. Colored in red and yellow are the many lighthouses and lightships that are in these waters. There are four inset harbor charts in the upper left, they are: Tarpaulin Cove, Woods Hole, Vineyard Haven, and Edgartown. The whole of Block Island is shown on the left edge.

  • ADDITIONAL INFO: On the verso is a small applied advertising label, "Quadrants and Sextants... Spy Glasses... at Robt. H. Cogswell's, 175 Barrington Street, Halifax."

  • CONDITION: Good condition save for some ocassional staining along right portion of image. One short tear in right edge.
