  • DESCRIPTION: Engraved by Bahrenstecher & Kessler. Based upon the English engraving issued six years earlier. Fraser, a British officer who fought at Louisburg and Quebec during the French and Indian War, accompanied Gen. Burgoyne during the American Revolution. On Oct. 7, 1777, at the Battle of Bemis Heights, Fraser was mortally wounded. Ten days later, Burgoyne was forced into surrender at Saratoga
