  • DESCRIPTION: Heny. Moreland [sic] Pinxt. Philip Dawe fecit. Drawn by Henry Morland (1716-1797), engraved by Philip Dawe (1750-1809). A wonderful composition with the light source for the image obscured by the arm of the young boy. A popular image for the time which was published by Sayer several times including a smaller mezzotint in 1773.

  • ADDITIONAL INFO: Framed in 1 3/4" receding wood molding finished in antique black, gold spandrel inset, archival back, Tru Vue Museum Glass.

  • CONDITION: Fair condition, a good impression. Tear in left margin 1 1/2" into image, no margins top and right, hairline right. It is not unusual for mezzotints of this period to have narrow to no margins.
