DESCRIPTION: Dessine D'Après Nature par Baugniet. Lithography de la Societe des Beaux Arts. Émile Jean-Horace Vernet was a French painter who lived from 1789-1863 and is known for his battle scenes, portraits and Orientalist works. Both his father and grandfather were famous painters (Antoine Charles Horace Vernet and Claude Joseph Vernet, respectively). King Louis-Philippe was amongst some of his most devoted patrons.
