• DESCRIPTION: Joshua Barney (1759-1818) Was a commodore in the United States Navy. He served in both the Revolutionary War and War of 1812. He organized and commanded the Chesapeake Bay flotilla. He was severly wounded at the Battle of Bladensburg, the historic defence of the national capital.
