• DESCRIPTION: Signed in pencil. Max Weber was born in Bialystok, Poland, and emigrated with his parents to the United States settling in Brooklyn at a young age. He studied at Pratt Institute under Arthur Wesley Dow. He is a noted modernist painter who produced a remarkable body of color woodcuts during his career. This is one of the largest and rarest of those woodcuts.
