DESCRIPTION: Portfolio, nine pages, one being a double page woodcut, plus wrap around dust-jacket and a case. Edition 7. This book was conceived, printed and bound by Ilse Schreiber-Noll, printed on Rives paper. <BR><BR> The woodcuts in this book were inspired by stained glass church windows which the artist visited in Germany. The musical notes are excerpted from the original score and cut out of the woodblock. Size 15 3/4 x 10 1/16" (400 x 258 mm). <BR><BR> It is based on Wolfgang Amadeus Mozert's Requiem mass in D, minor which he composed in Vienna in 1791 and left unfinished upon his death. In 1792 Franz Xaver Sussmayr completed and delivered the requiem mass to Count Franz von Walsegg, who had anonymously commissioned the piece for a requiem mass to commemorate the February 14 anniversary of his wife's death. <br><br>
