One of the true rarities for Martin Lewis in printmaking. According to McCarron one impression is known, the one in the Detroit Institute of Arts. This impression is the second located.

Both known impressions have inscriptions, the one in Detroit "to Esta - /July 1920" Esta and Martin were in a long relationship before the artist left for Japan.
This impression inscribed "to Mrs. Alex McGibbon : with all good wishes : from M.L. New York City, December 20th, 1924." Alex McGibbon was a boyhood friend of Lewis in Castlemaine, Australia.

Martin Lewis left for Japan in 1920, this print shows that he was influenced by the Japanese Ukiyo-e school prior to his traveling to Japan.Signed in pencil.
