DESCRIPTION: Inscribed next to title "Relief print in blue-black." This image was released as an etching and aquatint in 1947. This is the same plate but printed as a relief rather than an intaglio. <BR><BR> Printing in relief means the artist rolls the top portion of the plate to print it, the etched lines and aquatint details will remain white when the overall print is black. <BR><BR> Printing in intaglio, means the lines and aquatint marks are inked and the plate itself is polished, so the lines are now black rather than white. <BR><BR> The effect is opposite what is white in relief is black in intaglio, and what is black in relief is white in intaglio.
ADDITIONAL INFO: Signed, and titled in pencil. Inscribed "(Relief print in blue-black)" and "3/30."
CONDITION: Very good condition.
