This highly detailed map depicts London at the end of the 18th century. Shows an area from Sommers Town & Pentonville to Vauxhall Park, Butts and Walworth; Hyde Park to Stepney and Bethnal Green. The City of London is shaded and outlined in red. Primary roads are colored in tan. Parks and gardens are colored appropriately in green and water a lite blue. A reference key on the lower edge of the map identifies important buildings and sites by letter. All major streets, parks, squares, and buildings are noted. This map was first issued in 1792 by Robert Sayer. Sayer passed away in 1794 and the firm of Laurie & Whittle acquired his stock. Afterwards it was updated and republished by Laurie and Whittle.
