It is believed that the photogravure work was done by Goupil & Company of Paris. There are only a handful of major prints produced after Bierstadt’s paintings. “The Rocky Mountains” hanging in the Metropolitan Museum is one example which was produced as an engraving and a chromolithograph. “The Domes of the Yosemite” and “Storm in the Rocky Mountains, Mt. Rosalie” are both chromolithographs. “The Last of the Buffalo” is a photogravure, which was commissioned and published by Albert Bierstadt. The oil painting is in the collection of the Corcoran Gallery of Art. 18th-19th Century Subjects, Western & Indian
