  • DESCRIPTION: An interesting and highly detailed English-produced Civil War map. This " Seat of War" map is centered on an area just south of Washington, D.C. A number of Virginia towns are underlined in red. The Chesapeake Bay is shown in its entirety, An unrecorded state. In LOC "Civil War Maps", an 1864 state (484.2) of the map is identified. The later version does not have the images of the U.S. and Confederate flags which are shown flanking the upper title. One of only a few maps which include an illustration of the Confederate Flag.

  • ADDITIONAL INFO: Retains but removed from original hard covers. This example has a manuscript grid drawn in the form of a sideways "H" on it along with two color coded titles written on it. "_ Fed" in red and "-Confed." in blue.

  • CONDITION: Good condition and color, save for some minor splitting along folds.
