Hanhart Imp. (Hanhart was a British lithographer) This image of Jackson is based on an 1851 daguerreotype of Brevet Major Thomas Jackson, U. S. Army, taken while on a visit to New York. During the Civil War, photographer Matthew Brady changed the original to show Jackson in a Civil War period uniform.
