A portrait of Maximilian I, King of the Germans (also known as the King of the Romans) and Holy Roman Emperor (1459-1519). He is shown, in full armor, poised in the saddle of his armored horse. His helmet is decorated with a crown and peacock feathers. His horse's helm is decorated with the imperial eagle (Reichsadler) and the horn of a unicorn.
