  • DESCRIPTION: Map of the city of Williamsport in Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. The city is color-coded by sections and divided into boroughs along the river. Includes street names and major religious buildings, such as a seminary and several cemeteries. Train stations are also marked, and electric railways cross throughout the city.<br><br>The map is certified by George D. Snyder, the city engineer at that time and a former railroad engineer in states throughout the northeast. This map comes from Joseph R. Bien’s 1900 Atlas of Pennsylvania, which was the second folio size atlas of the state. Joseph Bien was a topographer and engineer who worked on this atlas with the publisher Julius Bien of New York.
