A nicely detailed map by Bellin for La Harpe's "Abrege de l'Histoire generale des voyages". A French produced, small sized atlas that depicts many parts of the known world. Also shows all of Lake Ontario, Lake Champlain and Lake George. Fort Edward, Fort George and Fort Carillon are depicted as well. ".

The cartographer Jacques Nicolas Bellin (1703-1772) was one of the most important and proficient French cartographers of the eighteenth century. He was appointed the first Ingenieur Hydrographe de la Marine, and also the Official Hydrographer to the French King.
