  • DESCRIPTION: A fun pictorial map focused on the Manhattan & Queens and the grounds of the 1939 Worlds Fair. The map has dozens of small vignette illustrations of prominent buildings, arenas including Ebbets Field, Yankee Stadium, the original Madison Square Garden, Pennsylvania Station etc. Today's LaGuardia airport is names North Beach Airport. The 1939–40 New York World's Fair covered 1,216 acres of Flushing Meadows-Corona Park. It was not a financial success as the world was quickly headed into World War II.
