In total, 21 wood engravings made up the publication, and told the story of a young, expecting mother who worried for her child's future at a time when fascism seemed to threaten the world. The story Ward illustrated was by May McNeer. A truly contemporary fear at the time, fascism and other issues in Europe would lead to the outbreak of World War II just three years after this book was published.

This particular wood engraving is part of the signed edition, printed on tissue, which was not used for the book publication.
