"Compliments of 'Domestic' Sewing Machine Co." An advertisement for the sewing company using an important American Revolutionary image by F. O. C. Darley.

Originally founded in 1861 under the name William A. Mack & Co., it morphed into the Domestic Sewing Machine Co. in 1869. Their 'Domestic' brand sewing machine was popular during its time, enough so that in 1924 it was purchased and made a subsidiary of the White Sewing Machine Company. They continued to manufacture 'Domestic' sewing machines until the 1930s when the Great Depression took its toll.
