  • DESCRIPTION: A trade card for Nichols' Bark & Iron, using the imagery of the Statue of Liberty. Printed in the lower margin is "The Bartholdi Statue. Bedloe's Island. New York Harbor. A gift from the French people to America. The statue is of copper bronze, 148 ft. in height, mounted on a stone pedestal 150 ft. high. The torch displays a powerful electric light." <br><br> On the back is an advertisement for medicinal products by Nichols' Bark & Iron, "an invaluable and never-failing remedy." <br><br> In the background is the island of Manhattan with the Brooklyn Bridge spanning the East River.
