"Deep eau-de-nil satin shoe worn by Miss Ada Cavendish as Lady Teazle. Large rosette, with gilt and steel square buckle. This size of bow (now obsolete) admitted of an elastic insertion at the back, which, no doubt, added to the ease of fitting. . ."
