  • EDITION SIZE: Two sheet map, not joined. Each sheet: 22 3/8 x 32 3/4" (57 x 83.2 cm).

  • DESCRIPTION: A large and very decorative two sheet map of western Asia.<br><br> Shows an area from Turkey through the Black and Caspian Seas to Tibet and south to include the Arabian Peninsula and all of India. Fine detail throughout including the Maldive Islands. The map mentions a number of trading centers along the Silk Road, including Samarkand, Bukhara, Lop Nor. Notes describe parts of the Arabian Peninsula as very dry and covered with sand, Qatar is listed as Catura.<br><br> A beautiful title cartouche takes up the most of the Arabian Sea and surrounding embellishments incorporates four religions found there.

  • ADDITIONAL INFO: Sold as two separate sheets

  • CONDITION: Overall in very good condition save for some minor tears in the sheet edges, well away from the image. Fine period coloring.
