This is the first of several trans-Atlantic steamers with the name City of New York. She was a part of the Inman Line fleet..Sadly she was short lived. She was launched in April of 1861 with her maiden voyage from Liverpool to New York.In 1864 she was wrecked on Daunt Rocks near Queenstown during dense fog.
