"Before the press its master stands; a white-hot ingot is put in, the press comes down, and in a moment it is the body of a shell. The master sizes it with his tongs; standing black against the burst of steam, he whirls it round, and two men take it in their tongs and carry it off re-hot to the branders." - a description from the book, "Pictures of War Work in England."
