DESCRIPTION: A fine map from Tirion's atlas "Nieuwe en Boknopte Hand – Atlas." Editions of this great atlas date from before 1740 to just after 1784. This map from a circa 1755 issue and is based on Dr. John Mitchell’s seminal map of America. This particular impression has strong, bright original hand coloring. A short history of the region is given. Georgia, Virginia and North and South Carolina are shown extending westward to the Mississippi.
