  • DESCRIPTION: The title continues with "The above view shows the appearance of Provincetown as it is seen from the north-eastern extremity of the village, which extends nearly two miles along the shore. The numerous wind or salt mills, and the elevation of sand, give this place a novel appearance." This print is from "Historical collections… relating to the history of every town in Massachusetts" by John Barber. The illustration does little justice to the print.
