A fine, early image of a 17th century ship of war. This view shows a large ship of the line under reduced sail with men swarming on the deck and in the rigging. This print appeared in Pierre Mortier's grand sea atlas, "Le Neptune Francois." In this atlas were a number of plans of different types early sailing vessels that were found in European waters during the last quarter of the 17th century.
