  • DESCRIPTION: Corrie's Detroit Lithogaphic Office. The Vessel from an Original Painting.<br><br> A fine view of early Detroit. This view shows the town from the Canadian shoreline. Although not identified on the print, some of the structures shown are the Truax House, Merchant’s Wharf, the Campau House, Roby Wharf, Fort Shelby, and St. Ann’s Church.<br><br> The steamship Walk-in-the-Water was built in 1818 and was the first steamship to operate on Lake Erie and Lake Michigan. She was wrecked in 1821 off of Buffalo.
