  • ADDITIONAL INFO: Titled and dated in pencil in lower right, inscribed " Note- Break up the hard outlines of the Cite as much as possible and make it picturesque.It is now too hard and mechanical. All principal shadows are cast except those on street cast by houses on left." and " Notes- Get all texture possible into old houses, particularly in corner house at right and in two chimneys and gable end above it. Cast all shadows. Put figures in street." TThis drawing came directly from the Estate of John Taylor Arms. Being transfer drawings means these drawings were used to create the copper plate that printed the etching. As any object that is used in this fashion, they often have a variety of condition issues. They are, however, unique works created by the artist.
