The map extends from Boston north to the St. Lawrence River and Gaspe Peninsula, including Montreal and Lake Champlain.

This map delineates the Acadia Boundary Dispute between France and Britain which was a major cause of the Seven Years' War. Colored lines note the fishing grounds, both current and historical, assigned to Acadia, Cape Breton and New Scotland. A comparative table locates sites by latitude and longitude according to different maps. Various cross-hatching s indicate the areas of the governments of Denis in 1654 and Charnizai and La Tour in 1638. The Province of Maine appears, but New Hampshire and Vermont are not differentiated, nor is Massachusetts named. In southern Maine York, Wells, Arundel and Biddeford are located, but not Portland. Towns, forts, rivers, lakes, mountains and Indian lands are all mapped and named.
