Engraved by Johann Michael Seligmann for his work "Sammlung Verschiedener Auslandisher und Seltener Vogel". This is the German edition of George Edwards' "A Natural History of Uncommon Birds" and Mark Catesby's "Natural History of Carolina, Florida and the Bahama Islands." Edwards and Catesby were professional and personal colleagues. So it seems fitting that the work of the two great 18th-century English ornithological artists was combined in this German edition. 18th-19th Century Subjects , Natural History - Birds , Mark Catesby
