Yeager, No. 103 Race Street, Philadelphia, [Nov. 14, 1816]. <BR> One of the earliest and certainly among the most graphic views of the Battle of New Orleans. It depicts the battle from the British perspective, with the mortally-wounded British General Pakenham in the foreground surrounded by his staff. Behind, the British troops are shown storming the American redoubt. The lower margin features a half-length cameo portrait of Jackson flanked by American flags and implements of war. This is the second state of the print per the AAS, with General Lambert in foreground weeping into a handkerchief but the address in the imprint line changed to “103 Race St.”
