ADDITIONAL INFO: Folk theme. Srimati painted several mother and child images from both the epics (like # Y1 (53976) and this one based on the folk themes she saw around her. In this Mother and Child, the child clings to his mothers back while she uses a woven thatch basket to seperate the rice from the chaff. Composing to the perimeters of the painting. Srimati included the kind of oil lamp she used at home, the kitchen tools to thresh the rice, and a miniature landscape view through the window.
CONDITION: Very good condition and color.
