  • DESCRIPTION: F. D'Avignon lith. From Dag. by Brady. Winfield Scott served as an active General longer than any other in American history, serving in the United States Army from 1808 to 1861. Serving in the War of 1812, The Mexican-American War, The Black Hawk War, the second Seminole War and briefly in the Civil War. He ran for president in 1852 in the Wig Party.
