DESCRIPTION: Engraved by Neele. Explorer's map showing a riverside camp on Oct. 22-23 in 1805. This engraving appeared in the 1814 English edition of Lewis & Clarke’s “Travels to the Source of the Missouri River and Across the American Continent to the Pacific Ocean. Performed by Order of The Government of the United States, In the Years 1804, 1805, and 1806. These falls were also known as Celilo Falls. They were drowned in 1957 with the construction of The Dalles Dam.
