DESCRIPTION: "Engraved by John Halpin, from a Painting by Graffs." Johann Christoph Friedrich von Schiller 1759 –1805 was a German poet, philosopher, historian, and dramatist. In his later years he and Johann Wolfgang Goethe had an inspiring friendship writing poems - it is said that Shiller was influential & inspired Goethe to complete many of his unfinished works.
