Kimiko Saeki

Kimiko Saeki McMilliam studied at the Art Students League, New York, NY; and received her MA in Printmaking from Cambridge School of Art (Anglia Ruskin University).  Kimiko is a printmaker working mainly in etching and other intaglio processes. Her pictures are very detailed and precise black-and-white images of real life scenes. Recently she has created a series of large etchings of different water-scapes. This series has allowed her to explore and blur the boundary between realistic depiction and abstract form, whilst pushing the limits of what her etching technique can achieve.

“My highly detailed pictures are very labour intensive, and for me this labour is both the means to creating a work of art and an end in itself, forming an essential part of my creative process.“
