Vivant Denon

Vivant Denon was a French painter and engraver, of aristocratic roots, who traveled with Napoleon's army to explore Egypt. Upon his return, he wrote a book about his travels, "Voyage dans la Basse et la Haute-Egypte," which was published in 1802. It was lavishly illustrated with his works.
