Hank Laventhol

1927-2001

Hank Laventhol was an American painter, printmaker and master printer born in Philadelphia, PA. He received his B.A. at Yale University and also studied for a time at Columbia University and the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, Italy.

He moved to Europe at the age of 32 to peruse his lifelong dream of being an artist. He was featured in numerous solo exhibitions over the next decade, four of which were held in London. He had several solo exhibitions in the United States after his return, including four solo exhibitions in New York City.

Laventhol's work is represented in any number of museums, libraries and corporate collections. Some of those include the National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C.; New York Public Library; Yale University Art Gallery; Free Library of Philadelphia; and the Bibliotèque Nationale in Paris, France
