The Old Print Shop is participating in this year's digital rendition of the London Original Print Fair (LOPF), which "provides an unrivalled opportunity to view and buy original prints spanning five centuries, from top international dealers, galleries and studios." Normally held at the Royal Academy, you can now enjoy this fantastic art show from the comfort and safety of your own home.

The Old Print Shop, Inc. is featuring a collection of American master prints produced between 1900-1950 and a small collection of our contemporary artists.

A bit of LOPF history:

2020 saw the first ever online edition of The London Original Print Fair : LOPF ONLINE. With art galleries and institutions worldwide closing their doors from the end of March we took the work of our exhibitors online and created individual viewing rooms. Throughout the month of May we were able to introduce a whole new audience to the joys of browsing and collecting prints.

What a long way the Fair has come from its first ever edition with just 16 exhibtiors in the upstairs Diploma Galleries of The Royal Academy of Arts in 1985.

The Print Fair is now in its 35th year and has grown to accommodate 50 exhibitors. As an institution run by artists - many of whom collect prints themselves - the Royal Academy is a natural home for the Print Fair. Sir Joshua Reynolds, founding President of the Royal Academy in 1768, had a great collection including prints by Dürer and Rembrandt.

The purpose of the Fair is to promote prints as collectable works of art. Printmaking has been instrumental in the development of art since the 15th century and the wide span of prints on sale at the Fair set contemporary prints in their historical context.
