Publisher : Published by G. A. Baker & Co., New York. This photogravure is based on a lithographed silhouette from Brown's "Portrait Gallery of Distinguished American Citizens." Described as "one of the outstanding American silhouettists" in "America on Stone," Brown wandered the country executing full-length silhouette portraits of major public figures. He placed each into a landscape or interior background related to the individual.
